Officials Explore Tuckerman Crevasse With Camera For Missing Hiker

Norman Priebatsch Fell Into Crevasse Last Week

MOUNT WASHINGTON, N.H. -- U.S. Forest Service workers explored a crevasse Tuesday where a missing hiker fell, but they were not able to locate him.
Norman Priebatsch, 67, of Boston, fell hundreds of feet into the crevasse while hiking with his son at Tuckerman Ravine last week.
About twenty inches of snow has fallen in the ravine over the past few days, and the avalanche danger is too high to send people in for a search, officials said.
