A local family trying to make sure the wooden playground structure at Haigh Elementary School gets replaced is again hoping folks donate this weekend through the power of lemonade. The Barrett family, sparked by daughter Cheyenne, 7, a 2nd grade student at Haigh, opened up a lemonade stand the past Monday where they collected $273 in front of their 85 School St. home. Lost hiker found safe after search in Wolfeboro

WOLFEBORO NH — A Wolfeboro man missing in the woods was found after a search lasting about 21⁄2 hours on Thursday.

Robert Demaree of Camp School Road called 911 on his cell phone at about 5:45 p.m. and told authorities he had become lost while hiking in the Camp School Road/Rust Pond/Winnipesaukee Golf Club area.

Responders were able to narrow down his location by using sirens and asking Demaree by phone if he could hear them. A Wolfeboro Fire-Rescue crew located Demaree on a snowmobile trail off Pleasant Valley Road at about 8:20 p.m. He was transported out of the woods via the Fire-Rescue Department's Gator. Demaree was not injured.

Wolfeboro Fire-Rescue was assisted at the scene by the Wolfeboro Police Department and canine Blek, New Durham Fire-Rescue, and Stewarts Ambulance.

N.H. Fish and Game was en route to the scene when the subject was found.
